Robert Frederick's tenure as a TransNet rider extends back to the company's inception.

Since TransNet's inception he has been attending the North Penn Training Center in Lansdale and using TransNet to get there. He began the program after finishing special education classes in his local school district. Daily rides in the Mid County Transportation van are a comforting ritual and he enjoys interacting with his co-workers.

Bob and his driver share an interest in sports, often discussing the local teams on their way to the center. The driver is particularly careful in inclement weather, making sure his riders safely board and depart the vehicle. Recently Bob left his lunch on the van. His driver made a special trip to the center to return it. Bob says, "The drivers really care about us and they all have a great sense of humor."

When Bob's mother passed away two years ago he had to move from Harleysville to his brother's home in Lansdale. According to Bob's brother, Ron Frederick, "The move was seamless."

Every day, TransNet shuttles over 450 mentally retarded adults to and from this type of facility. The service is funded by the Montgomery County Developmental Disabilities Office and represents an important contribution to the social well being of the area.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to recognize Bux-Mont Transportation for their excellent service to all of us at Willow Grove Training Center.

I personally have had the pleasure of working the the Valenza's for thirty years. I have first hand knowledge of how this company has grown and improved over time. The Valenza's have shown their generosity to us on numerous occasions when they provided consumers rides to and from parties and events free of charge. Many consumers are on a fixed budget and have limited funds available to them for extras but the Valenza's have always been a family who have a special interest in our group and have supported individuals who are mentally challenged throughout the years.

The Bux-Mont drivers are more than drivers to our consumers. They become personally involved with individuals as well as their families. Bux-Mont drivers have gone out of their way to keep workshop staff informed in any changes in behaviors or living arrangements. This information is extremely helpful to us and allows us to work together in order to provide individuals with the best possible care. The drivers set the tone for the individuals' day as well as provide them with a safe, comfortable ride to work.

We are very grateful to our friends at Bux-Mont for all they do for us and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

Two years ago, our son had a desire to attend a local technical school. While we admired him for accepting the challenge, we knew it would be difficult to get him physically to the school, since he is unable to drive and public transportation is unavailable.

For the first few months, we attempted to rearrange our schedules, so we could drive him ourselves. This was an extreme strain on the family. We contacted TransNet and they told us about the PwD program in which they could bring him to school, as well as back home.

Now one and a half years later, he is getting ready to graduate and we couldn't be prouder.

We know this accomplishment has been made possible through TransNet. We thank them with our entire heart for making our son's dream a reality.

A Note From John Kalman...

I just wanted to drop you a short note to tell you how much we appreciate the transportation services provided to my disabled daughter. The services provided certainly make my daughter feel a sense of independence along with a sense of comfort for her caring parents. My disabled child is transported with the upmost safety and comfort to her job.
