• 3/19/2015 - TransNet Upgrades To A New Version Of The Ecolane Transportation Software TransNet recently upgraded our transportation software to a new version 4.2.2. The new version of the Ecolane software includes a number of new features and enhancements to assist TransNet staff in the management of more than 2,600 individual passenger trips daily, with improved efficiency and accuracy.   Megan Krusi, TransNet's Information Systems Manager, worked with Ecolane staff for several weeks testing the new version in order to verify that everything was working well in the test environment prior to rolling the new version out into production.   • 3/19/2015 - New Employee Training - Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Earlier this month, TransNet's Operations and Training Manager, Maria Church, attended a four‐day certified instructors training course for the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Program. The program focuses on the safe management of disruptive and assaultive behavior.   Training for TransNet drivers and aides will begin next week, and includes: strategies and techniques for everyday challenges and potentially violent situations verbal intervention and defusing or deescalating behavior managing an incident until assistance arrives The two and a half hour course will be conducted for groups of 15 to 20 participants and will b...
  • 3/19/2015 - 2014 Sustainability Update... TransNet currently operates ten compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles throughout Montgomery County. These vehicles were converted to CNG between the last quarter of 2013 and the first half of 2014. During 2014 TransNet was able to reduce our carbon footprint by 58,476 pounds of CO2 by utilizing the CNG vehicles, reducing our CO2 emissions for the ten vehicles by approximately 28%. Considering that all ten vehicles will be in operation for the full year in 2015, we expect to see a substantial reduction in our carbon footprint this year over 2014.
