TransNet Receives 2016 Race to Excellence Gold Medal for Best Support Agency!

TransNet receives the 2016 Race to Excellence Gold Medal from Best Workplaces for Commuters (BWC) in the Best Support Agency category. This award was presented as a result of TransNet being a huge part in the sustainability, environmental, and commuting efforts of multiple agencies, schools, persons with medical assistance, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens. There were only 17 winners across the country! Since 2011, TransNet has received Five (5) Gold Medals and One (1) Silver Medal in the Best Support Agency category!

Rick Metz, President, TRX Insurance Services, Inc. has been a member of the TransNet Board of Directors since September 2012. He is a business person at large on the board and serves on the Risk Management Committee. Rick says, "I believe it is important to participate with TransNet in some way as TransNet provides a needed service to the general community at large but more importantly a 'must have' service for those individuals that require assisted or accessible transportation. TransNet Participated in Hillcrest Plaza Merchant's East Norriton Holiday Parade!

TransNet along with partner, Norristown Transportation, participated in the Annual Hillcrest Plaza Merchant's East Norriton Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 3rd from 11am - 1pm. Despite the cold windy weather, the crowd was still full of excitement welcoming the holiday season. Denise Babbitt, driver at Norristown Transportation, drove the TransNet bus decorated with holiday festivities and gave candy canes and TransNet bags to the people along the parade route. TransNet is proud to continually be a part of this holiday tradition!

Meet the Board of Directors: Crystal Gilchrist, Principal Transportation Planner, Montgomery County

Crystal Gilchrist, Principal Transportation Planner at Montgomery County Planning Commission (MCPC), became a member of the TransNet Board of Directors in January 2015. She will be a member of the board for 2 years this January. As a transportation planner for Montgomery County, Crystal helps manage the roadway construction projects that the county is sponsoring. She also coordinates with the municipalities regarding roadway improvements required for land developments and she completes land development reviews.
