Meet the Drivers/Aides Monday: Lamont Anderson, Driver at Easton Coach Company

Lamont Anderson, driver at TransNet's partner, Easton Coach Company, has been driving for Saint Joseph's University since 2006 and came on board with TransNet in August 2016. He not only is a great driver, is dependable, and always goes out of his way to do more, but he also served 4 years in the United States Marine Corps, was a Philadelphia police officer/detective for 30 years, and has been working in transportation since 2000. Meet Drivers/Aides Monday: Valerie Holmes, Aide at Bux-Mont Transportation

Valerie Holmes, aide at TransNet's partner, Bux-Mont Transportation, has been working with TransNet for almost 3 years. She primarily assists with transporting school children, who she thoroughly enjoys speaking with to hear how their day is going. She looks forward to seeing them each and every day. The best experience she has had is seeing the improvement in speech and behavioral changes through the years. During Valerie's "free" time she enjoys doing crafts and volunteering for the church.

Denise Babbitt, driver at TransNet's partner, Easton Coach Company, has been with the organization for almost a year and a half. She does a lot of different types of trips including school runs, dialysis patients, wheelchairs and trips into Philadelphia. With the variety of people Denise transports, her day is always different keeping her active and on her toes. She really enjoys helping clients knowing she's making a difference in people's lives. Denise was asked to be one of the drivers to participate in the State Roadeo this past weekend and did very well. 1st Place Winner at the 2017 State Roadeo

TransNet and partners sent five drivers to compete in the 2017 PPTA State Roadeo. These drivers, Denise Babbitt, Jeffrey Cook, James Downam, Danielle Johns and Monica Pope, showed determination, hard work, and dedication while training for the competition. For two days, the drivers took written tests and a very grueling road test, which was timed and contained very tight turns and difficult judging. All five drivers competed and performed very well and we are proud of all of them. However, James Downam took first place in the competition, which means he not only did well on the written and road test, but he also did it quickly. Jeffrey Cook, driver at TransNet's partner, Bux-Mont Transportation, just recently joined the TransNet team less than a year ago. He is a great addition to the team and primarily transports people needing a wheelchair. Jeffrey enjoys the people he works with, talking with his clients, seeing their smiles and hearing about their lives the most. The clients get to know him really well and they look forward to having him pick them up. During Jeffrey's "free" time he enjoys exercising, reading and spending time with his family.
