Meet Driver/Aides Monday: Mother/Daughter Team at Tri County Transit

Tamara DeBoer and Elsa Jost are not only mother and daughter but they make a great team duo for TransNet's partner, Tri County Transit. They have been working together as driver and aide for almost two years and enjoy being a team. Tamara and Elsa are mainly involved in transporting school children who are typically autistic. They are challenged on a daily basis and are able to be successful and remain happy with what they do as a result of their close relationship as mother and daughter along with the connection they get from the children they transport. The interaction between the parents, children and Tamara and Elsa is enjoyable with great amounts of understanding, respect, and kindness.

Rebecca Williams, the scheduler for Easton Coach Company at the Norristown Division, has been with the organization for almost 6 years. Her longevity speaks a thousand words about the organization itself. Scheduling all trips for both Mid County and Norristown divisions of Easton Coach Co. are Rebecca's primary responsibilities. Working with her colleagues is what she enjoys the most about her job. Somehow if her day is tough they always seem to make it better. Meet Drivers/Aides Monday: Ron Burton, driver at Bux-Mont Transportation

Ron Burton, who is a driver at Bux-Mont Transportation, one of TransNet's partners, has been with the organization for over 6 years. Dependability, professionalism, and friendly personality are just a few adjectives to describe Ron. He truly cares about the clients and believes in helping them perform their everyday activities. The majority of Ron's trips are transporting Intermediate Unit students to and from school helping them receive the education they need and deserve. The appreciation Ron receives from the parents is beyond words and they make him realize how much of a difference he's making in their children's lives. During Ron's "free" time, he enjoys gardening.

Lou Giordano, driver at Tri County Transit, has been with the organization for 7 months now. He is mainly involved in transporting school children, which helps them be able to get the education they need. Communicating and interacting with the children is Lou's favorite part of his job. He enjoys hearing their stories before and after school as they enter the vehicle. Getting to know the people Lou works with and the people he transports is the best experience he has so far. During his "free" time Lou enjoys working out and dining out.

Eileen Boone, aide at TransNet's partner, Tri County Transit, has been with the organization for 5 months and appreciates every aspect. She thoroughly enjoys interacting with the children who are being transported to and from school. Knowing that she's a part of helping these children receive an education, gives Eileen a feeling of fulfillment. The best experiences she has had so far is receiving all the various training needed and required to make her better at being an aide for the children. The CPR class was a requirement but she is very glad she was given the opportunity to receive this certification because it can help her and others in every day life.
