Roush CleanTech Provides Training on Propane
As part of TransNet’s sustainability efforts, the purchasing of propane vehicles was the first part of a two-tiered approach. TransNet's partner, Bux-Mont Transportation, recently had a propane fueling station installed at their location and another TransNet partner, Tri County Transit, will have their station installed by the end of February. The decision to have each company install its own private fueling station was made so that the propane is easily accessible and provides the opportunity to refuel vehicles throughout the day. Roush CleanTech's Vice President, School/Transit Bus, Ryan Zic, and Business Development Manager of the Northeast and Central Region North America, Derek Whaley, traveled from Livonia, Michigan to provide a four-hour training session for the maintenance department at each partner location. They presented information about the history of Roush, how to work safely with propane, how to service the vehicle, and how to use the Roush service portal for diagnostic testing and service manuals. A “hands-on” demonstration on how to problem-solve and service the vehicles was provided. Following the training, each site was certified as a warranty shop which enables each maintenance department to perform all warranty repairs.
